Responding to concerns or allegations about the behaviour of an adult

Responding to concerns or allegations about the

behaviour of an adult

Your organisation's safeguarding policy and procedures need to outline how you will respond if concerns are raised about inappropriate behaviour by an adult working or volunteering for you. This includes any allegation of abuse or inappropriate conduct made against a volunteer or employee by a child or young person.

Any allegation made by a child or young person, a colleague or parent/carer must be taken seriously.

All children, young people, parents/carers, employees and volunteers need to know that they must report any such concern or allegation to the Named Safeguarding Lead in the organisation. The name of your designated child protection lead should be publicised along with how they can be contacted.

The Designated Child Protection Lead will then contact the Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO) based within the Council's Safeguarding Children Service who will support your organisation to respond appropriately to this situation.

The LADO in Wolverhampton is currently Paul Cooper.

He can be contacted on 01902 550477 or emailed in non urgent situations on paul.cooper@wolverhampton.gov.uk
