Wolverhampton Partnership was formed in 2002 as the Local Strategic Partnership (LSP) for Wolverhampton.

Wolverhampton Partnerships' overall aim is to bring together the commitment, resources, energy and skills from organisations, groups, communities and people within the City to improve the quality of life for local people within the City.

The objectives of the Partnerships are to:

  • Put into operation and further develop Wolverhampton's Sustainable Community Strategy. This document highlights priorities to improve the quality of life for people in Wolverhampton.
  • Monitor and manage performance against targets for improving local services.
  • Demonstrate effective joined working between organisations in the City to improve the lives of residents.

Overall the LSP will make sure that by effectively working together the quality of life of local residents is improved and the inequalities of life experiences are reduced.

LSPs are not statutory bodies (i.e., not required by Law), their success depends on the voluntary participation of partners.

The Partnership is made up of a Strategic Board and a number of thematic sub partnerships which include the:

  • Health and Well Being Partnership
  • Strategic Housing Partnership
  • Economic Partnership
  • Environmental Partnership
  • Children and Young People's Partnership
  • Safer Wolverhampton Partnership
  • Learning Partnership

The Partnership includes local agencies involved in delivering and commissioning services such as the City Council, The Primary Care Trust, the Police, Job Centre Plus, the college and university. The voluntary and community sectors also play a key role and input is also given by the Chamber of Commerce and local businesses.

All partners are represented on each of the themed partnership sub groups as appropriate.
